Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]

Welcome to The Ink Grid. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of theinkgrid.com and theinkgrid.dk (the “Platform”), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], CVR [CVR NUMBER], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], Denmark (“The Ink Grid,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

  • “User” means anyone who accesses the Platform, whether or not registered.
  • “Client” means a User seeking to discover or contact a tattoo artist or studio.
  • “Artist” means a registered, admin-approved tattoo artist with a profile on the Platform.
  • “Studio” means a registered, admin-approved tattoo studio, which may have one or more affiliated Artists.
  • “Content” means text, images, portfolio items, messages, and any other material submitted to the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on the Platform. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and current.

3. What The Ink Grid Is — and Is Not

The Ink Grid is a discovery and connection platform. We help Clients find verified tattoo Artists and Studios by style, location, and availability, and we provide tools (such as in-platform messaging) for Clients and Artists to communicate.

The Ink Grid is not a party to any agreement, booking, or transaction between a Client and an Artist or Studio. We do not perform tattoos, provide medical or health advice, guarantee the quality, safety, or outcome of any tattoo work, or process payment for tattoo services. Any agreement regarding pricing, scheduling, deposits, aftercare, or the work itself is solely between the Client and the Artist or Studio. Disputes arising from that relationship are not our responsibility to resolve, though we welcome being made aware of serious concerns (see Section 9).

4. Account Registration and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@theinkgrid.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Usernames must not impersonate another person or entity, or be misleading, offensive, or infringe on third-party rights. We reserve the right to reclaim or reject usernames at our discretion.

5. Artist and Studio Verification

Artist and Studio profiles undergo a manual review process before becoming publicly visible. Approval indicates that basic verification checks were performed; it is not a guarantee of the quality of an Artist's work, their professional conduct, or their compliance with applicable hygiene, licensing, or safety regulations. Clients are responsible for their own due diligence before booking any service.

We may suspend, reject, or remove any Artist or Studio profile at our sole discretion, including for violations of these Terms, complaints from other Users, or failure to maintain accurate information.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features (such as a public profile, portfolio, and messaging) require an Artist or Studio to hold a paid subscription tier. Subscriptions are billed and managed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's applicable terms in addition to these Terms.

  • Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) and are non-refundable except as required by law.
  • You can manage, change, or cancel your subscription at any time via the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from your dashboard.
  • Prices, currencies, and taxes (including Danish VAT, calculated automatically at checkout) may change; we will provide reasonable notice of any price change affecting an active subscription.
  • The Founding Member program offers a limited number of Artists a complimentary period as described on the Platform at the time of signup. We reserve the right to modify or end this program for new signups at any time; it does not affect Founding Members already enrolled.
  • If a payment fails, your subscription may be marked past due and, if not resolved, downgraded or cancelled in accordance with the process described in your dashboard.

7. Content and Intellectual Property

Your content. You retain ownership of Content you upload (such as portfolio images). By uploading Content, you grant The Ink Grid a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that Content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform (for example, displaying your portfolio publicly or featuring it on the homepage). This license ends when you delete the Content or your account, except where copies are retained as required by law or for backup purposes for a reasonable period.

Our content.The Platform's design, code, branding, and any content we create (excluding User-submitted Content) are owned by The Ink Grid and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute Platform content without our written permission.

Rights you must have.You confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to any Content you upload, including rights to any tattoo designs, photographs, or images of clients depicted, and that uploading it does not infringe any third party's rights.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one;
  • Upload Content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise violates applicable law;
  • Use the Platform to spam, solicit for unrelated services, or scrape data;
  • Attempt to bypass verification, security measures, or access controls;
  • Use the messaging system for harassment, threats, or unsolicited commercial messages;
  • Interfere with the normal operation of the Platform.

We may remove Content, suspend accounts, or restrict access for violations of this section, at our discretion and without prior notice in serious cases.

9. Messaging

In-platform messaging between Clients and Artists is provided as a communication tool. Messages and related metadata are retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy and automatically deleted thereafter. Artists may block a Client from contacting them again. Report abusive or unsafe conduct to hello@theinkgrid.com — we take such reports seriously even though we are not a party to the underlying relationship.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via your dashboard settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Platform or a feature. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ends immediately; provisions that by their nature should survive (such as Sections 7, 11, and 12) will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any Artist or Studio listed will meet your expectations or requirements.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Ink Grid and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Platform, any tattoo service obtained through a connection made on the Platform, or any dispute between a Client and an Artist or Studio. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Danish or EU consumer protection law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold The Ink Grid harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your use of the Platform, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Danish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
